  Wondering if anyone has any information on the VA clinic here in Columbus, GA. I am prior service and my husband is active duty. TRI Care facilities on post have been a joke. They waited and ignored me about my shoulder pain and would not put in a referal for an MRI for over 2 months. When they finally did they found I have a few tears. Now with the holidays it's going to be about 3 weeks till I see a surgeon. I am baffled by my experience. Is the VA any better down here? Is it worth the hassle to have everything transferred? Any advice or personal experience would be appreciated. Thank you

  The VA clinic here in Columbus (CBOC) is on 13 th Ave. They are just a clinic but would assign you a PCP at that location. My past experience (and it's been a few years since my ex was here locally) is that for most things, they send you to Tuskeegee, M ontgomery and/or Birmingham. They do not send you to Atlanta for anything. As for the care? It's slow and you have to stay on top of things to keep them moving. I highly recommend obtaining a copy of your paperwork at the end of ALL visits for your own records. Don't know if any of the numbers I have are any good but try 800-214-8387 or 706-257-7205/7200.
