  I'm thinking of getting a puppy and am looking for a vet. Valley Cottage Animal Hospital has been highly recommended to me since they're open 24 hours in case of emergencies. Any good or bad experiences there? Also, since he will only be 10 weeks old when I get him somebody suggested pet insurance. Do you guys recommend pet insurance and if so which ones and why?

  Pomona Animal Hospital is open 7 days a week and do not charge extra for the Sat/Sunday hours as an emergency. After hours you would need an emergency vet, theres,Valley Cottage and Nanuet has one on Rt 59 who are very good as well.   I highly recommend Dr. Puzio in Pomona Animal Hospital. He is the most caring, sweetest vet I have ever known. Pomona Animal Hospital is open 7 days a week and Dr. Puzio will sometimes go to Stony Point location. Dr. Lambrich is wonderful too as is Dr. Byman. Pomona Animal Hospital also has a great staff. I can't say enough good things about North Rockland Animal Hospital and Pomona Animal Hospital. I never used insurance for any of my animals but I'm going to look into it for my kittens.

  Having recently moved back to NR i was in search of a veterinarian for my 12 year old cat (the one in the profile pic) I took him to the Rockland Veterinary in Pomona. Devastated to see his weight go from 17lbs to 11.9 it turns out he is diabetic. Dr Puzio requested that i leave Koko there over night so they have 2 full days to monitor his levels before and after he eats. I told him i would have trouble bringing him there on Thursday (today) morning due to work. He said no problem drop him off tonight (wed) at no charge for the night so we can have him here all day thur and friday.. OMG..who does that? Dr Puzio is always smiling..greets you like he's known you all his life. Needless to say i have found my new Vet.. I highly recommend this place. Half the price of my previous vet and the staff there is friendly and caring.. Rockland Veterinary in Pomona. 354-1800

  Been to all three. All were very caring. We take ours to North Rockland Animal Hospital now on 9W across from firehouse. If u go to Valley we liked Dr Cohen though she starts her shift in the afternoon at least when we took our dog there. Good luck. Hope pup gets better
