  By law we are required to have health insurance. I purchased Fidelis through the marketplace which started in January. In April I got medicare which I also pay for. I called medicare on Friday to ask a question only to find out it is illegal for me to have the Fidelis plan. So now I have to call other insurance companies to find another plan that will work with medicare and hopefully one I can afford. I am on disability because I have MS. I have a procedure that needs to be done and the medicare won't cover it. So now I'm back at square one, and in pain. Why is it if I'm paying for this insurance it's illegal? Isn't this Obamacare supposed to let Americans afford health insurance, yet this is the second time I have lost my health insurance. Also if I had the Fidelis through Social Services it would have been ok. BUT I get NO help. ... what am I doing wrong?

  Sue...try the NMSS. 1-800-344-4867 I hope they can help you. I know I've contacted them a few times, and they were no help, but with all the money they raise, they should. (If they can't, be sure to let them know how little support we get up here...if we lived closer to Westchester, there would be tons of programs for us).

No drs here, not even a grocery store lol so I know I'll have to travel to a doctor but how do I find one? Do all neuros require a referral? I moved here a few months ago.. I really just don't understand the medical system until I was diagnosed in 2009 I'd never been sick.. my last Neuro put me on gilenya and my prescription is almost up so I really need to find a doc... can anyone help me figure this out?

I live in FL and I submitted an application for a cooling vest so I can be outside more (heat zap s me) within a week they have already sent me the vest.   Hi Jami, You may have the best luck contacting Kaiser directly for referrals in your area. None of our Partners in MS Care Centers in California are in the Kaiser System, however we do have information on neurologists with MS experience who accept Kaiser, just not ones we consider MS specialists. Who told me MS doesn't cause pain and if my brain MRI comes back negative, that ms is ruled out. I was tested for other things that were ruled out.   Looking for a good MS doctor to get a dx of clinical MS. Brain scan came up clean but both primary care doctor & pain management doctor believe I have MS. I was given a list of covered doctors. Can anyone recommend any of these? If not, if you could recommend your doctor in the Sussex/Morris/Passaic/Essex/Bergen County. Would prefer Sussex or Morris but just need a good doctor who believes in clinical MS. List Dr. Seth Stoller, Dr. Richard Tonzola, Dr. Diego Cadavid, Dr. Stuart Cook, Dr. Peter Dowling, Sr. Balashov, Dr. Steven Lomazow, Dr. Stuart Fox, Dr. Tsairis. At this point, I am getting desperate as I am getting worse. My main concern is a doctor who believes in clinical dx of MS. My latest symptom is losing vision in my right eye, so I have stopped driving.
