Does anyone do flooring or know much about concrete floors?
We're converting an 18.5'x12.5' garage into a bedroom. It's a concrete slab and we're trying to get some ideas about radiant heat versus thick padding and carpet.
If anyone has any advice, we would appreciate it very much. Also, if anyone has any leads for trustworthy flooring companies and/or electricians, we would be very appreciative.
I originally posted this on my wall and received this advice: "Heated flooring systems are nice but expensive! Laminated floating floors are the easiest and least expensive! Put a 6 mil plastic sheeting cover over the concrete first for moisture control, and then put a good quality underlayment on top of that and then install your laminate flooring of choice! Underlayment/ felt like material almost like carpet underlay is better than foam. Flooring/ quick/click lock is easier than glue...!"
At this point, we're leaning toward this method, but we're open to any and all ideas.
Hope y'all are all doing well!
