Anyone know a good place for buying new and secondhand narrowboat stuff like filler caps and the like? Rather like the idea of browsing an actual store rather than ordering online...
Can anyone recommend best place for a few metres of rope for a bit of training? On first look seems pretty expensive! Also, what diameter should I be considering? Thanks

James Husband If you are ever near central london this guy is super helpful. I popped in one day and he demo'd me a whole selection of ropes plus advice on shackles, attachments and would hard or soft splice the eye. I still need to make my purchase but would def recommend http://www.arthurbeale.co.uk/

You say Central London... you could try Arthur Beale's at 194 Shaftesbury Avenue. They're closed today but open tomorrow. Worth a call to check first as they don't always have everything you'd expect - 020 7836 9034
