I have a good friend who is in a bad financial state. She is a senior citizen living on a small pension but is in her own home. She still has a small mortgage (less than apartment rent) on it so she has very little money beyond basic living expenses. The home is falling into disrepair (most critical need is a new roof to keep the critters out most, next would be some plumbing leak). I have been looking for a Habitat for Humanity-type service that might help out people in need. I wonder if someone knows of a church or other organization that could provide assistance? Thanks!

First Baptist Marietta helps elderly people in situations like this. I'm the children's minister here. Give me a call and I can connect with you with the people who oversee that ministry. My office number is (770) 874-8539.
Marietta City Parents: Looking for suggestions of local, weekday activities/classes/groups for my 6 month old daughter and I (swimming, music, exercise, Mom's group, etc.). The closer the better!
