Sounds like a potentially dangerous situation with the chi and boxer. I would definitely recommend getting a basket muzzle for each of them until you get help. That will allow them to drink and pant just fine, just not hurt each other. Then I would definitely get a behaviorist to come to your house. Training in a facility is beneficial, but you need more in depth training from the sounds of it. Until you find the right behaviorist, read up on resource guarding and multi-dog households on positively.com and dogstardaily.com to get you on the right track. I would check out the list of behaviorists on APDT.com.

The instructor has suggested stopping any play with other dogs for a week. My immediate thought would be to do lots of eye contact work also with distractions and also recall work. He is only 9 months. I feel stopping him playing will only cause him frustration leading to more problems. Thoughts please guys??
