  Helen & Heather are two labrador puppies who have tricuspid valve dysplasia which is a congenital heart defect. With medical therapy dogs can live anything from a few months to a few years. There is no routine surgery that can be done for this condition so we are hoping there is a specialist heart surgeon who reads this who may be able to help. If you are reading this and know of a surgeon who may be able to help please ask them to get in touch with us urgently at info@manytearsrescue.org. Time really is of the essence for Helen and Heather so we cannot stress the urgency.

  I go to the animal trust in Failsworth. Bit of a trek from Chorlton but they are a non for profit vets and don't charge for consultation, just for treatment. So when you want to get something checked out that you think may be nothing, you're not put off by the usual consultation fee. http://www.animaltrust.org.uk/

  Cats protection will do if you tell them. My vets adviced me last year when I took a pregnant stay in. Then animal trust who you pay for treatment and mo consultation fees. They are on facebook and on line x

  Swinton area: Can anyone out there help me, please. An injured Tom has been visiting my friend on a regular basis for food. He is eating well and seems happy enough, but the injury (to his head) looks pretty nasty and needs checking by a vet. He is very nervous and we are unable to catch him, so could do with a cat trap. Has anyone got one that we could borrow, so we can trap him and take him to one of the local rescue charities? My friend has approached the RSPCA and various other organisations/people. She's been given a lot of advice, but no actual help. Thank you.

  Poor cat he is clearly suffering and looks unwell. The fact that his terrible sore is not healing could indicate he has an underlying problem such as felv or fiv which cannot be cured and make him a possible health risk to other cats. Euthanasia is sometimes a blessing for such cats. I would take up AID's offer to trap him and take him to the vet, he needs to be seen sooner rather than later. Alternatively if you can trap him with Michelle's help Animal Trust in Bolton do not charge for consultations and they could help you decide what is best for him. Good luck.
