Recommend me a good ISP, please. Hi all, been living in Wellington (Northland) for about a year in a flat situation. I tend to play dota and cs from time to time. Vodafone has been our ISP and while having its ups and downs has generally been quite reliable. But, the last couple of months Vodafone have been awful. I'm barely able to do any gaming and its become very unreliable.
Anyway, I'm moving to my own flat in Island Bay in a couple of weeks and want to get some good net sorted out. I miss being able to binge game when I want to :(. Anyway, can you recommend me a good ISP? There's a fair few around these days, but I thought I'd get some opinions first.
Thanks all.
Edit/ Cheers for the responses thus far, fellas. Much appreciated.
Edit 2/ Thanks again all. Probably go with Bigpipe or My Republic. My Republic has a sale on atm, so that might be a deal-maker.

Can you [get fibre](https://www.chorus.co.nz/) and do you want a landline?
nikPitter replied:
Hi. Fibre not yet available in Island Bay. Options are ADSL, possibly VDSL , or Vodafone cable (formerly Telstra/Saturn). The latter is the quickest, but you may need to offer a kidney to have Vodafone/chorus allow you on their holy network , no other ISP has access to it. Not sure of chorus' fibre rollout status in Island Bay. Source: Island Bay resident.
Hi Takaka...
Who uses what internet provider? Does anyone recommend any particular ISP?
Completely over the lame service provided by Spark.
Is Snap any good up here?
:)

hmmmm did some digging and found that our Broadband capability of where i live is only 5Mbps anyway.. im getting 4 with Spark so maybe not worth the change until Chorus upgrade our cabinet. https://www.chorus.co.nz/maps
Paula M. replied:
Tom , ValleyNet is independent of the Chorus network

If Chorus are going to upgrade your nearest box hang in there. I went from 0.5 mbs to 26 mbs after they upgraded to fibre. We are over the maximum distance and you get more if your closer.
