However, my patients are always looking for a primary care provider that will work with them when they are trying to incorporate more naturopathic or functional medicine interventions.

  No, direct primary care. Affordable for many (cheaper than deductible/copays for many), and much more conducive to effective primary care. I'm an integrative family doc who closed my solo practice last Spring because my soul was crushed by the nonsense that Thuc is not getting entangled in by not contracting with insurance companies, but with patients. It allows her to serve her patient, not the insurance company. I'm planning a move to Canada to get out from under the American multi-payer insurance industry, but if I were staying in the U.S., I'd become a direct primary care practice.
