  Go in knowing how many bedrooms, and bathrooms you want. If you want a yard or acreage, a view, town or rural. Talk to your lending agent to know what you can afford. Hold firm. Also, johnlscott.com will let you search areas and you can filter different items. Over the years I have found that 3 bedroom, 2 baths seem to hold their value or increase the most.
