  ADVICE NEEDED for Special Mom #psnm00479 We have been denied twice for SSI for ou ID/DD twins. I work full-time and can honestly say I do not have the time or energy to deal with the appeal process. I think it's time we get a lawyer. Can you please ask if anyone in the DFW, TX area has used one that they can recommend? Thank you for your help.

  Some of the advice here was not accurate. You absolutely can own a home. Our family earns a decent living and our son gets the help he needs. It's worth pursuing. Also check www.p2 pusa.org to contact the TX agency of parents who educate each other. I work for the Missouri one. Good luck.
