  Hayli Grace Evans, when you get your puppy, just so you know, Anderson has a free/low cost spay neuter clinic run by the local Humane Society (not the public intake shelter, but a separate group). That service is available to anyone of any income. There is a standard VERY LOW fee but there is also subsidies for those with no money. Www.achsonline.com. This group started the clinic because the local animal shelter kills 16 animals every single day of the year (2013 numbers) and they are hoping to help reduce the number of animals being killed at that place. I hope you consider adopting a puppy from the local animal shelter!

  The Anderson Humane Society Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic is in full operation and we are now performing approximately 100 surguries per week. We are grateful for the support our contributors and volunteers have made during the past months. Their contributions have help make our 1 st year of operation a success. We are dedicated to providing this needed service and reducing the number of unwanted and neglected animals. If your family income is less than $30,000/year then you may qualify for discounts on the spay/neuter fees. Contact the clinic to make an appointment. All fees must be paid in cash, money order or certified check at the time of the appointment. We do not take personal checks and are not set up for credit cards. The current prices and services offered are as follows: DOGS: The following prices are for dogs up to 65 lbs. For animals over this weight, talk to your appointment representative about cost. MALE NEUTER $60 FEMALE SPAY $70 CATS: MALE NEUTER $40 FEMALE SPAY $50 To undergo surgery, your animal must be in good health, up to date on shots, at least 5 months old, and weigh at least 3 lbs. Bring proof of vaccination with your animal. If you do not have proof of rabies vaccine, your animal will be given a rabies vaccination at a cost of $8 to you. We will not alter animals more than 4 weeks along in pregnancy. A spay charge will apply if a male animal is cyrptorchid. If requested, ACHS will do the following vaccines and procedures only on the day of surgery . As stated, a rabies vaccine is mandatory if your animal does not have an up to date vaccination.
