Said staffing would include positions dedicated for animal control officers, supervisors, cruelty specialists, and bite team responders. Do staffing recommendations take into account the socio-economic condition of a given community?

  I have large scale emergency sheltering experience (LSU in Baton Rouge - Katrina; Lamar-Dixon in Gonzales, LA - Katrina; Nacogdoches County Expo Center in Nacogdoches, TX - Ike) and on-the-ground rescue (9th Ward, New Orleans, LA - Katrina; Chalmette, LA - Rita). I'm a degreed Mechanical Engineer. I'm currently in central/east Texas in my RV for other business that has now been postponed indefinitely. My rescue vehicle and gear are in Arizona but I'm here and self sufficient and available. Can someone put me in touch with any rescues/shelters that need an experienced body while I wait for callbacks from HSUS and Houston SPCA? THANK YOU!!

  Who would you contact in order to find out how to go and help in the impacted or surrounding areas? Or help even out of state? I'm a Veterinarian Assistant. Have Volunteered and Fostered for the OKC Animal Shelter as well. Worked overnights by myself at my animal hospital taking care of up to 75+ animals including assisting Veterinarian with emergencies that come in. Please let me know, and thank you!
