I have a couple of questions about hay - due to the dry weather we have been able to cut and put up a 4th cutting of alfalfa. My husband says we can't feed it to horses - that it will be to hot. But it is beautiful hay. Lots of leaves, fine stems and pretty much weed free. So my questions are - what are the pros and cons of 4th cut and is there somewhere I could have some hay tested for nutritional content? I know that was offered at the Horse Expo in March but where can I have that done this time of year? thanks all!
