  Mechanic Recommendations. OK so I have an old car and most of the problems that arise I just get my stepfather to fix. It's probably got a few issues but I just want an oil leak sorted. I get tired of mechanics giving me long lists of things that need to be fixed that amount to over the value of the actual car. Then pushing for it to be booked in again. It's roadworthy. Serviced regularly. But on a low income I fix the issues as they become obvious and if it breaks down so be it. Can someone recommend a mechanic that understands this method and that not everyone has a couple of grand just laying around. Sorry long rant but surely someone understands what I mean!!
