Is there any mechanics on the island that can put in starter motor? And anyone that do roadworthy on the islands?
Mark F. replied:
If you live on the islands you don't need a rwc for your island concession rego OR your mainland vehicles. But you have to submit at Cleveland Office. Call main roads and ask about it, they are rely helpful
Johnson T. replied:
Aunty if your Island Car has an Island Rego It doesn't need a RWC When you're ready to transfer Island Car to Mainland Car You still don't need an RWC All you do is go to Transport Give your Mainland Address And they'll transfer your Car to Mainland rego From memory think i had to pay a small fee maybe $30.00 i can't remember But you skip RWC altogether
Anna B. replied:
Tim the mechanic on Macleay Island and or contact the Auto & Marine shop on Macleay
Travis P. replied:
Howdy, a roadworthy is not required if you live on the SMBI. This doesn't mean your car can be in an unroadworthy condition though. It means we are exempt from obtaining a Safety Certificate, and can instead do a self-assessment. All the info and forms you need are on my website. https://www.bayislandsinfo.com/island-rego/
