  Friends around the county , do you know any surgeon or Endocrinologist who will recommend or do removal of a thyroid nodule without totally removing the thyroid? I can travel. I am NOT ABOUT TO HAVE MY thyroid removed, the thyroid not only regulates all the hormones in the body but it purifies the blood every 17 mins of heavy metals. I already know I have a genetic tendency towards Alzheimer's so getting rid of my thyroid will only lead to my developing it much quicker. I have been fighting to keep my thyroid as my nodule is getting bigger. Only 20-30 years ago the standard of care was to merely remove the nodule, today is a different story. TOTAL REMOVAL is the standard of care . Does anyone have any advice ?

  don't have time to read all here, so it may be redundant, but my best advice is to find a truly good acupuncturist who specializes in chinese herbs also. I know many people have been helped. I even know people who completely avoided thyroid meds, though Dr insisted she would be on the med for rest of her life. That was over 15 years ago and her thyroid is normal w/ no meds needed thanks to acupuncture and herbs (and yes even for shrinking nodules!). It's worth a shot from the little I read about your condition. I am all for trying non-invasive, especially when benign.
