Friends around the county , do you know any surgeon or Endocrinologist who will recommend or do removal of a thyroid nodule without totally removing the thyroid? I can...

Barbara T. replied:
Try Dr. Judson Black, endocrinologist on Johnson Ferry Road in Atlanta, 30342.
Okefenokee G. replied:
Only about 5% of nodules are cancerous and need removing. I had thyroid removed over 10 years ago at the Mayo Clinic.
Michelle W. replied:
Julianne Thompson interesting point about the thyroid and Alzheimer's patients that you have known. My concern is the research that shows that Aluminum build up in the brain is related to the disease and since the thyroid detoxes our blood of heavy metals like Aluminum that is my concern.
Melody M. replied:
Yea-- passing good information on is now a Federal offense thanks to Dr Hillary.
No just sister in the Lord & fellow abolitionist & Nurse Practitioner with strong interest in Alternative Medicine.
Jason S. replied:
Dr. Z does the ultimate Abe Lincoln impersonations (but they probably don't dig ol' Abe down in Georgia).
Michelle W. replied:
Sarah Cleveland, one surgeon was pushing me to remove BOTH sides because I am healthy now and could get through surgery with no issues. His attitude was do it now while you can, I guess and remove both sides while you can because research shows eventually you develop nodules on the other side!
Jason S. replied:
My daughter has Type 1 diabetes and an endocrinologist but I do not know if this doctor is as you describe. Check out Dr. Zumhagen, who is an elder in my church and delivered my daughter. He may have referrals.
Leslie H. replied:
Lulu Hanks might have some good advice.
Jason S. replied:
My daughter doesn't like her endocrinologist, but we all love Dr. Z whose faith is involved in every iota of his practice.
Karen P. replied:
Going gluten free does help. I too had my thyroid tested and it came back normal. I spent the next couple years feeling horrible and finally saw Dr. Miller and now I finally feel better.
Can any one recommend a Pediatric Endocrinologist that can help a transgender 16 yrs old ??? Help is much needed. I keep running in to walls. Thank You
Adam G. replied:
I used to see Dr. Jennifer Gilligan at Piedmont Hospital, and she was involved with transgender hormone therapy for KSU. Excellent doctor, and I have no concerns about recommending her to anyone, assuming she is still around.
Shannon H. replied:
Call Linda Ellis at the Health Initiative. Tell her I sent you. 404-429-6633
Kimberly D. replied:
Well Dr. Patterson is supposed to get in contact with me today and if she doesn't I'll reach out to your practice manger. Thank you Kristine for your help.
Dr. Gilligan is my diabetes doctor and she is very nice.
David L. replied:
I also agree with Shannon, thehealthinitiative.org has a provider directory of lgbt friendly providers
Kimberly D. replied:
So I called Dr, Gilligan today and left a message. Fingers crossed that they call back today. Thank You all for your help.
Kristine M. replied:
Dr. Brianna Patterson is a pediatric endocrinologist with Emory. She treats many of the children and adolescents in my practice. also, depending on the need of this adolescent dr. Izzy Lowell with Emory is a family doctor with a focus on Trans* Healthcare for both adolescents and adults. the youth adore Dr. Lowell.
Kimberly D. replied:
Might try Dr. Lowell after Wednesday. Having the worst time with Dr. Patterson and her nurse. Does Dr. Lowell work at Emory to Kristine Grace Medea?
Atlanta friends... I need a new endocrinologist. Anyone know of anyone really good? I will travel inside the perimeter, I don't care, I just need someone great!
Q M. replied:
Someone just recommended this doctor to me. http://www.endogeorgia.com/?page_id=2
Julie S. replied:
Search Dr Tom Flood. My friend's father. Specializes in diabetes but I take it on very good authority that the man knows his stuff.
Dorianne S. replied:
North Ga Diabetes & Endocrinology (Dr. Geetha Soodini) 770-886-3879 They have 2 locations; Cumming & Johns Creek
Endocrinologist recommendations? I've been searching for an endocrinologist in Atlanta (I'm on the north side, but I'm not particularly picky about where they are...
reallifedog replied:
Ive been using Dr Carmen LeBlanc at [Atlanta Diabetes Associates](http://www.atlantadiabetes.com/physicians/carmen-e-leblanc-m-d/) for a couple years now. Shes pretty great and their practice is right off 75 at Howell Mill
Anonymous replied:
Dr. Milton in Cumming has a ridiculous following. People travel from other states to see him b/c he treats symptoms instead of numbers from blood tests. Only takes new patients every so often though. http://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-michael-milton-292 l4
vervii replied:
Dr. Munoz, never been to him but he was in alpha omega alpha which is the tip top of med school, and he has a long patient line so apparently he does well enough to stay busy. Best of luck.
Need a referral for an adult endocrinologist in Atlanta please.
Suzanne S. replied:
Ernest Beasley III, at Center for Medicine & Enfocrinology (CMED), (404) 256-0775 Don't know what type of endo you need. I have Cushings & Addisons Diseases (no pituitary & no adrenal glands). The entire practice is top in the SE.
Eric S. replied:
Jonathan Mutnick
Robin A. replied:
Dr. Jason Berner. He's in Canton with Georgia Mountain Endocrinology.
Julie S. replied:
I second Ernest Beasley III. Very thorough and nice.
Eric S. replied:
From my friend Jonathan who couldn't post due to permissions: I use Dr. Bruce Bode at Atlanta Diabetes Associates
Charles C. replied:
I have heard that Dr. Bruce Bode is one of the best but I also hear it's hard to get an appointment. I use Dr Kate Wheeler for my type 1 diabetes. She's is typically the second name I hear after Bode when it comes to diabetes.
Damn. Dr. Anderson is good. He is at the other practice.
Lauren M. replied:
Pediatric Children's Specialties. Used to be Emory Children's Center. Next to Egleston. There is a practice near Scottish but I wouldn't recommend them to my enemy...
Lauren M. replied:
Looked it up - Children's Specialty Services. 404-785-2000. We see CPNP Megan Pruett, who is incredible. Everything okay?
Need recommendations for obgyn and endocrinologist preferably near Dunwoody Also need recommendations for fertility specialists ! Thank you!
peachybutton replied:
[Georgia OBGYN](https://www.georgiaob.com) is located on Peachtree Dunwoody between Northside Hospital and 285. I saw all of the doctors in the practice during the course of my last pregnancy and had consistently good care. Feel free to PM me if you have questions about specific doctors.
raptorjaws replied:
Arbor OBGYN is right off Chamblee Tucker. Been going there happily for several years.
atlccw replied:
Northside Women's Specialists at the Northside Hospital Doctor's Center is amazing! I've been a patient there for 13+ years and have recommended many happy friends and family members. They also have an Alpharetta location which many of their Doctors and other staff serve, which is also relatively convenient to Dunwoody.
seaurchinsrfun replied:
Anissa Durairaj at Northside/Northpoint OB/GYN is amazing, favorite doctor I've ever had.
install_later replied:
Maternal Gynerations in Lawrenceville. I live in SW ATL and go up there cause it's good.

For an endocrinologist I'd recommend Dr. Gordon Wotton. His office is on the St. Joseph's Hospital campus.
