Looking for a BBQ place that does not put a rub on their meat. We went to one over the weekend and it had so much peppercorn rub on it I couldn't eat it. Any recommendations for sweet slow cooked BBQ.
I am in search of a good southern BBQ caterer for a kids luau party that is not going to charge an arm and a leg to feed a bunch of kids and some parents. Anyone have an suggestions?
Dad's coming from NJ. Where's the best BBQ place to take him? Not necessarily WF. He likes the vinegar based/Smithfield kind?

Tonya, you should take him to downtown Raleigh to Cooper's Barbeque. They just moved locations, just down the street. http://clydecoopersbbq.com/ It says they've been "serving Carolina-style Barbecue since 1938." There's also Barbeque Lodge in mini-city (on Capital in Raleigh.) There's a little place next to the Sheetz on Capital in Youngsville. It's Holden's Barbeque. That would be a really local "hole in the wall" kind of place. It's small & it's been there a long time, just like Cooper's, but it's a lot closer. :) All of this is from a Raleigh native, so I know some good barbeque. :)
