  Home based dog euthanasia recommendations? I have a 12 year old dog whose health is declining and I want to plan ahead. It’s starting to look closer to his time and I’ve been trying to keep him comfortable with palliative medicine. Currently he seems ok, but it also feel unpredictable and I want to prepare while I am still able to think clearly. I want to be with him when he passes and I know Covid has made that very difficult. Does anyone have any recommendations for mobile/home visit services? Thanks in advance! ((Also any tips on how to know when it’s the right time are appreciated))

The moment I told my Madi she didn’t have to hold on anymore, she relaxed and settled into my lap. When the vet arrived, they were wonderful and gentle. A week later we picked up her ashes and a paw print. If you are looking for a service that will help guide you through this difficult time, I cannot recommend compassionate care enough.   We had to put our 13 year old chocolate lab down in February. We wanted her to be comfortable and in a familiar environment so we went with Compassionate Care 24/7 Home Pet Euthanasia. They were amazing. Not overly priced either. We called the day of and they were able to be out within a couple hours. I highly recommend them.   Liz; There are several to choose from. I recently used Compassionate Care in Portland. Their number is 503-880-1172. I highly recommend them. I live on Livingston Mountain in Camas. They are wonderful to work with and are indeed compassionate. They made a very difficult time less stressful. After I made my decision on who I was going to use, I called them and set it all up. I just didnt know when that time would be. When I knew it was time (it was a Saturday morning around 9:00 a.m.) I telephoned them and Dr. Beth was at my house around 1:00 p.m. Wishing you co-worker all the best. Dawn Weber

  We had to make that very difficult decision a year ago. But we had great help at home with a vet that specializes in at home euthanasia http://www.drlorigibson.com/frequently-asked-questions/ then dignified pet services in Tualatin for the cremation. They work together which makes it easier. We had to make the call very late at night as our great dane could not get up off of her bed. We had a peaceful transition here at home then the doctor took her to Tualatin where we picked up the remains a few days later. She is now part of are garden. Sorry for your family, these decisions are never easy.
