I want this experience to be as successful as possible, and have been reading up as much as I can. I wish I had started with the research earlier, but hopefully I can be prepared! I've been wondering if having a doula/birthing coach is a good idea? Does anyone have one they would recommend? I live in Layton and will be delivering at Ogden Regional.

  In my personal opinion a doula is a need not a want. They are there to help you accomplish your birth plan. If you google doula's for your area you can find a list and learn about them and even find reviews on them. I recommend Rachel Brown and Laurel Asay. (Rachel might not be certified yet. It's been awhile since I've talked with her.) Either one will be able to tell you names of others if they are unavailable or not the right fit for you. Also, Laura Lynn Curtis offers Daddy Doula Classes that I highly recommend. http://www.hypnobirthingutah.com/daddy-doula-training/ It'll help your husband to know and understand what his role is as you are in labor.
