About us
Meet "Miss" Kim:
Even though I’ve been married for over 20 years, everyone affectionately knows me as “Miss” Kim! My family has lived in Richardson since 1994. Since then I’ve run my own in-home childcare, taught at a Christian preschool, and supervised after school, holiday and summer programs. Having children of my own, I am attuned to the needs of the families and children of my community, and I am working to meet those needs!
My goal is to provide a “homey”, family-style environment as an alternative to the center-based industry. I would like to meet the need of parents who work PRN, night and variable shifts as well as provide “drop in” care for parents that need last minute care (whether a cancelling sitter, staff meeting, job interview, Christmas shopping or date night). I believe this kind of center will enable a workforce that otherwise does not have many options in the DFW area, thus creating less stress within the workplace and family unit. I will have separate living room and bedrooms that invoke all of the feelings of home; additionlly having a large enclosed backyard for time outdoors. I believe there is a need for a calmer, more home-like care center versus the brighter, noisy centers with constant stimulation. With children spending more time away from their homes, they need a peaceful space where they can relax and do what they’d be doing if at their own homes.
There are many children in the population that need this type of environment. Constantly being shuttled from activity to activity and living today’s fast paced lifestyle, children will enjoy being able to relax. My staff will play board games, watch movies, work on puzzles, arts, and crafts, or whatever else the children would like to do; all while providing the quality of care that a parent would expect from a home based childcare.
