Jodi R. asked:Update! The officer was able to find someone at Pinal Co animal shelter to take the dog in and assess him. Urgent!!! Found dog in Casa Grande..looks to have been hit by a car. Needs vet care. We called animal control and they have no one to send atm. An officer was dispatched to the scene and does ot want to take the dog to the shelter and have it sit there in pain until tomorrow. She can't take it to the vet unless it's backed by a rescue. Can anyone help? Update: After calling a couple of vets here ( one didn't answer ) the officer was told that they wouldn't take the dog as a surrender. She ( the officer ) stayed with the dog , covered it with an emergency blanket and offered comfort and was waiting for a fellow officer to help her get the dog into her car so it could be transported to the shelter ( Pinal County , I believe ). I believe the only staff available today at the shelter is a volunteer.
