Can anyone recommend a good doggie dentist? Our rat terrier who hates having his mouth touched and tolerant chihuahua need serious dental detailing. Plus their breath stinks.

I go to the Vet Dental Hygienist at my vet Dr. Anne Reed's office - Her name is Maya and she's fantastic - no anesthesia, she will sit on the floor and wrap towels around the dogs, etc. Also counsel you about the bad breath etc. Call 510-232-5303 and see when she is next booking appointments there, and if not anytime soon, ask them for her number so you can find other places where she is available... :) I take my dog 2 x a year for cleanings, and brush her teeth every other day with only water... (Btw I feed Party Animal no-grain Kickin' Chicken canned mixed with Halo Salmon dry food and add chopped up green peans, sugar pea pods, broccoli, etc.) GOOD LUCK!
The best & most compassionate vet I've ever known (got her several years ago for my cat, but now she's vet for Carma The Wonder Dog wink emoticon ) is Dr. Anne Reed http://www.holisticpetvet.net/www.../Home.html - her practice used to be all house calls but then she got an office right next to the freeway ramp in Pt. Richmond (very easy to get to). Housecalls Tues., Wed. & Fri., office Mon. & Thurs. She's trained in vet. acupuncture, homeopathy, herbalism, etc. Has 2-3 month waiting list, so I suggest to just get on the list now for when a spot opens, and meanwhile stop by the office to meet her sometime..
