Looking for a good summer camp for my 11 year old. Any suggestions that don't cost a fortune? I've called the Y and got some info on the Parks and Rec program at Belvedere. But want to explore more options.
Hi All - I'm sure this has been asked so sorry for this but are there any really good local summer camps you would reccommend? Keep in mind this would be for a 8 year old boy. Thanks in advance!

I can't say enough good things about Bayside at Sandy Point. It is run by Mike and Georgia (aka Rafiki and Sierra, their camp names that the kids call them) with lots of energetic college-aged counselors. It's a very homegrown but well-organized camp. Our older son has enjoyed going for 3 years now and our younger one is about to start this summer. It's also relatively inexpensive (around $165-175 a week). They hang out in the pavilion/group rental area of Sandy Point and the grounds, beach and facilities there are beautiful, private and uncrowded - well away from the masses. The kids get to choose their activities like team sports, arts & crafts, outdoor cooking, kayaking, crabbing, etc. http://creativecri.org/
