  Have a question for all of you dog lovers!! Gracie has been diagnosed with luxating patella and needs surgery. Does anyone know of a vet that they trust that does this type of surgery without going to University of Illinois? The cost is 3500-$6000 per leg. I don't have a problem paying to have Gracie end up having a long fruitful life but the costs are astronomical. Appreciate your viewpoints.

  Did you try Midwest Animal Hospital? I trust them completely. I brought my cat in b/c I thought she was having seizures. The vet examined her for about ten minutes before she said, "do you see this?" Her Canine tooth was pushed to one side so it was making it hard for her to close her mouth. I thought oh gosh this is going to cost me so much money. I asked the vet how much this was going to cost me and she said that actually it looked like the tooth was falling out on it's own. She took her in the back and the tooth fell out with a little wiggle. Cost me a whole $10 plus medicine so there would be no infection. After that I recommend them to everyone. I tried Boone they are good but high I thought. I did hear good things about the ortho in Burr Ridge:) Good Luck! Call first see what they say 708-478-7788 They may know where to go or something.
