Backyard fruit exchange? By any chance, does anyone know if there are resources for people who'd like to buy fruit directly from those who grow it in their backyard rather than a grocery store or farmer's market?
I was thinking about how it's almost impossible to find truly tree-ripened fruit unless you grow it yourself or know someone with a tree.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Fallingfruit.org Has app with maps for some areas where you can pick the neighborhood fruit.
Is there anyone here who does urban foraging? Or any form of eating wild plants? Or know of a class or guide?

Kathy I didn't do much foraging up there. There were a few apple trees I'd hit. Check out fallingfruit.org to see if there is anything near you or to register your finds. You can also help set up for foragers. Apple, cherry ornamentals can be grafted with fruiting branches. Tis the season to squish tomatoes into the ground and see what comes up in spring. And there are plenty of wild greens up there. Just be cautious of environmental contamination in the area.
Hi! New to site, is there any places near Harrisburg, PA? THANKS

Hi Mary, To find out what's already been mapped, simply navigate to Harrisburg, PA on the website (fallingfruit.org) – either by panning and zooming the map or by jumping to an address using the top left map control. There are many locations in Carlisle but few in Harrisburg; perhaps you can add some?: https://fallingfruit.org/?z=13&y=40.27961&x=-76.88387
How do I find out about where I can go and get fruit? I paid for the app and cant make heads or tales out of it. Can some one give me the info for getting fruit.

Hi Cynthia, I'm sorry you're having trouble using the mobile app. Once you've registered and logged in, you'll see a map. You can jump to your current location (top left button) or jump to an address (top search field) or simply pan and zoom the map. Locations are shown as orange dots. Clicking them reveals more information and features. The bottom right button allows you to add a new location. The process is similar on the website (fallingfruit.org), although there you don't need to be logged in. Hope that helps!
