  Janet - try The Jerusalem Hostel - http://www.jerusalem-hostel.com/ - which is on Jaffa Road at Zion Square, only a short walk to Jaffa Gate and the Old City. I have friends who have stayed there many times and really love it. Clean, comfortable, FREE WiFi and affordable.
