I have stayed at many hostels in Tel Aviv when switching apartments here. Abraham Hostel is the best and HaYarkon 48 and Beachfront Hotel are a close second and right by each other. Old Jaffa Hostel is also good but I only stayed there one night so I can't give a full opinion on that. I dislike Milk & Honey because they only have two dorms of 15 and 20 people, triple-story bunk beds that are hard to climb, and putting that many people on a small space will pretty much guarentee that the room smells and you will smell when you go out. Some people like it for the staff (actually one of the best staffs in my opinion) and because everyone knows everyone there. Really though, Abraham is the best because they have a lot of activities to do both in and out of the hostel that aren't too touristy, an almost hotel feel to it because it is so professional, and they have hostels in Jerusalem and Nazareth that you can get free rides to if you stay in the Tel Aviv one for a night.

calle ramblas and "la boqueria" (food market) which is located right there too. Barri Gotic not far from Ramblas is nice too there you will aslo find the jewish "district" which is acatully 2-3 small streets which is definately worth visiting. Then go to "Parque de la Ciudadela" and finish at the port where you wil find a small nice shopping center "Maremagnum". And go to the National Museum, dunno if u r interested on the museum itself but the whole area is beautiful.
