  Hey guys! Im really excited my boyfriend and I are going to be spending the summer in Alaska, most of our time will be spent exploring the wilderness, but Fairbanks is going to be our home base! I have 3 big questions! (1) Are there any locals that can recommend the best trails in and outside or fairbanks to check out, as well as possibly great hikes within an hour or so of fairbanks? we backpack/camp a lot, so were really experienced, especially in off trail, but for this trip since were new to AK, we'll probably stick to the trails, any good hiking/backpacking guidebooks? (2) Best burger/Beer places! Yum! Specifically if their are any microbreweries in town or near town. (3) Lastly, What are the best venues for weddings? I won't list my business because I'm really not trying to spam this group, but my boyfriend and I shoot weddings together, so we'd love to reach out to some of the best venues near town and see if any of their couples still need a photographer, or perhaps couldn't budget a photographer. Thanks so much for all your help! We cannot wait to be in Fairbanks!

  Kate Dalton No kayaking trip yet, the ice hasn't melted enough. There isn't anything on the club calendar for this weekend. Keep and eye on the calendar at www.fairbankshiking.org and when the ice is finally melted on Piledriver Slough I'll post something.
