  I know this is an old string, but I was just at BOSA FOODS the little italian supermarket and they had HUGE wood spoons that could easily work as a brew paddle. Directions here: http://www.bosafoods.com/kootenay.htm If my memory serves they were around $20 ea and had about a 4' handle. I'll get a pic next time I'm in.
