About us
Welcome to Lil’ Monkey’s Consignment!
- HOW TO BECOME A CONSIGNOR -
We accept gently used or brand new clothing for newborns up to teenagers. We ask that all consignors go through the clothing they wish to sell and remove any items that have rips, stains and/or pet hair on them, as we cannot accept those for sale. In addition, clothing that smells like cigarette smoke is also not accepted for consignment.
We offer a pick-up and delivery service for items that you wish to consign and items you have purchased from the online store, this service will be free from Friday March 15 until April 15 and only offered within the town limits of Orangeville. After the first month a small fee will be charged for all pick-ups and deliveries depending on the location of the items.
We do ask that the items you wish to sell be placed in one of our shopping bags that will be delivered to your home after you have contacted Lil’ Monkey’s to become a consignor. Unfortunately, we cannot accept totes or items placed in garbage bags, the totes would be very hard to store and may wrinkle the clothing. All clothing for sale will be kept on clothing racks to ensure that they do not wrinkle.
- TERMS OF CONSIGNMENT -
All items accepted for consignment will be on an 8 week consignment period. The pricing strategy is a 50/50 split between Lil’ Monkey’s and the consignor. Our pricing plan is as follows:
Weeks 1-4 all items are listed at full price
Week 5 Items are marked down by 10%
Week 6 Items are marked down by 25%
Week 7 Items are marked down by 40%
Week 8 Final mark down by 50%
After 8 weeks, should the item not sell, the consignor will be contacted and asked if they would like the clothing returned to them or if the clothing can be donated to a local charity. If we have not heard from the consignor within 10 days of the notice then the items will be donated to a local charity.
- PURCHASES -
Should you have special items that are expensive and wish to put a reserve price on that item, we... show more ask that the special article of clothing be specifically labelled.
All clothing that is placed on consignment, will have photos taken and pricing listed by Lil’ Monkey’s staff. Photographs with pricing indicated will then be placed in the appropriate album on the site, which is predetermined by gender and age. While browsing the photo albums should you find something that you wish to purchase, please write “mine” in the comments section and that item will be moved to the pending album so that the only items left in the sale album are available. You may also write, “2nds” in items that you are interested in that are located in the pending album and should the first purchaser change their mind, the item will be sold to the next person who commented or moved back to the “Sale” album.
We will be paying the consignors once a week should their items sell and have been paid for by the purchaser. Currently, we only accept cash or Interac E-mail transfers for payment.
