  Question for Chambana peeps... Brad is seriously contemplating having lasik eye surgery. Recommendations for anyone here in the area? Good/bad experiences? We know the procedure has been done for a while now...but still hesitant on anything having to do with such an important body part. Appreciate any insights you can provide. Thanks!

  I did mine thru ESA...they have a satellite office here in champaign (same plaza as le peep) so all my consultations and follow up mtgs were done there. The actual surgery itself is done in Bloomington. They were wonderful, professional, and I squeezed some poor woman's hand during the entire thing and she didn't complain once! it's been 3.5 years now and I have had zero regrets!!!   I had it done last summer through eye surgical associates, it was the best decision I ever made! Dr. Crockett. They have an office here in town but you have to travel to Bloomington for the actual surgery.

  Glasses... Mine broke yesterday, and the Rx isn't very good anyway. The optometrist I went to for 20+ years is no longer in practice. So, I need a suggestion for a good optometrist in B/N, no insurance so cost is a factor, but I also need someone who's thorough because I HATE getting glasses that aren't quite right (not that I'm always quite right...). In fact, my old glasses that I'm wearing right now are slightly better than the "new"ones I got two years ago. I've been wearing glasses since 1964, and I do need bifocals... So, what's a good source for new glasses for old eyes in B/N? Thanks!!
