UPDATE: I wanted to let all of you who were so kind or offered words of hope or help - Our dear Boxer girl, Julie, was able to pass quietly while sleeping in her own bed last night. We had "Dr. Deb" come to our home and she was wonderful.
We are broken hearted and missing her sweet face, of course, as we loved her so - but for those of you facing "that time", I highly recommend having a vet come to your home if at all possible. I believe it makes a huge difference.
Thank you ALL, again. Your kind words of advice really gave me support at a sad time like this. Thank you much. :)

I have a dear, elder dog that has been the most perfect dog! However, she has been ill, and now pain is visible and she has lost the joy of life. I would like very much to have a vet come to our home to put her to sleep here, in her own bed. I know there are some vets who are willing to do this. My only concern is that she is about 65 lbs. I could not possibly bury her. Is it possible to have her taken for cremation? I'm so broken hearted by this whole topic, but I'm sure someone has gone through this and can share with me how they handled this?? Thank you very much.
