So, right at the end of my commute while making a hard right turn on to our street, this happens..... I am assuming it was already cracked and just finally let loose under the heavy side load.
Anyhow my question are these:
1) Is there anyone in Atlanta who does tig bike frame repairs? Understand I would probably have to replace the dropout, if they can even be located for an 11 year old bike. But is there a shop that would even attempt such a repair? Or are we just too much of a throw away and litigious society that the recommendation is to throw it away?
2) If I have to find a new bike, is there a store in the greater Atlanta area that specializes in commuter style bikes? Specifically, I am thinking of an internally geared rear hub with a Gates belt drive as well as a dynamo hub. When talking with most bike shops this type of set up is somewhat foreign to them or at best a one off oddity. Looking for the ATL version of www.joe-bike.com or www.peterwhitecycles.com
Thanks!
