The barber shop has been in existence since time began. It is the oldest profession known to man. A man must present well for purposes of business and attracting a suitable partner. Men have always known this, and unlike the female, hair has always been a problem for men. Granted females go to all lengths to eradicate hair from every square inch of their bodies except their head, but men are inflicted by growth of copious amounts of hair all over their bodies. Despite this many unfortunate men are inflicted with sparse growth on their head. God must really get a laugh from what he created.
So I think it was Adam that originally become unsightly to Eve, who longed for Adam to have a sexier look instead of the unruley hair and a scuffy beard. All that hair made it so that Eve had trouble noticing Adam's handsome face. So Eve as it is said, tempted Adam to allow her to cut his hair. It was done. Well God become angry with what he saw, as Eve had created an image of herself in Adam through a hair style which was more suited to females. God was angered by this hair style but noted that Adam looked better and decided to allow this change. So God decreed that men shall cut other men's hair to preserve a manly look, and the men that perform this Godly duty will be called "Barber's".
Indeed Eve herself was more pleased with the first Barber's efforts and was in awe at how manly, and handsome Adam had become.
Thus was born the Barber Shop, and their traditions that have lasted thousands of years. Men can seek refuge in the Barber Shop knowing that they indeed will be more appealing and manly with the skilled craft of the Barber. While styles come and go the Barber always adapts to the ever changing current of fashion, from the afro to the shaved look, full beard or a one day growth, nothing is too difficult for the skilled Barber.
After all the Barber was decreed by God himself to perform his saintly duty. ... show moreshow more
