Cats nails should only be clipped if they are indoor cats or they can't escape danger. Groomers CAN do cats, but most won't a) training is less common than dog grooming and b) one bite from a cat includes a trip to the hospital and probably at least 2 weeks off work (a bad infection can include amputation of a finger, worse case scenario but could end their career) So any groomers that do cats seems relatively expensive...for example Pets At Home bathing/clipping starts at £65! Plus groomers have to close salon to dogs for half a day/full day. Vets can do clip offs, but it is under general anaesthetic so usually only when really matted (and can cost in region of £100). Plus it is not for looks, but for comfort so will only be the body, not legs or head usually and it's not blended so looks silly. Vets can also do nails but may Inc consult fee. Wanted to give you info, not a sales pitch, but I am a groomer and if you struggle to find someone to help I would be happy to (I do cats fairly often, probably because most don't). I'm more based in my Leeds branch but can come over to our Barnsley branch for you. If want any more info either pm me or call our Leeds branch to make a Barnsley appt with me (our Barnsley groomer doesn't groom cats).... 01132 796 795 Good Luck x
