What I'd like to do is spend a weekend somewhere within a few hours of Cinci, learning how to ride off-road.   Go to Hueston Woods State Park. They have bike rental right by the trailhead. You can rent bikes and can always find someone hanging around to show you the trails. Call BikerBob he runs the bike rental. 513-523-1316
