Does this actually exist yet? Are there safe places to camp yet?
Homeless A. replied:
Opportunity Village Eugene expects to open its first Village on city-owned property at 111 N. Garfield in July, housing around 30-40 homeless people. It's a pilot project that hopefully will be followed by more Villages later if OVE can find sites for them. Right now the only safe places to camp are managed by St. Vincent de Paul's car camping program. OVE has been siting Conestoga huts under their program in church parking lots, with a maximum of 3 per site, 9 total so far. http://www.opportunityvillageeugene.org/
