Hendy Lund Appleton is correct. Banks take these checks in the name of customer service and often the tellers are young, naive and fairly new. It's just a fact of life and I don't mean to be offensive to anyone. As for credit card companies, we have a hard time getting them to prosecute because they won't pay to fly someone out here from Delaware for $100 charge or even a $20,000 charge. They just write it off. It's a loss. They just subtract it from their profit. The banks do the same thing. As long as banks continue to be federally insured, they don't suffer much of a loss, hence they have little incentive to prevent fraud.

Camp Adams has over night camp and its close to home. Also, you can email the library and ask them to put you on their email chain- they will send you emails about (library) activities for kids during the summer.

Stylish and good for hiking to Everest base camp is going to be pretty much impossible. Every high quality heavy duty hiking boot I've seen looks pretty dopey.

Belleville Black 700 Boots
Got my first pair in USAF BMT. Have been a believer ever since. Kept clean, they look quite fine with jeans. But they also hold up in hiking and inclement weather.
Some guys preferred Bates but I hated them. They kept giving me blisters on my heel. Just didn't fit right.
My current pair is from 2011, the toe on them is beat to shit and scratched up but still waterproof. Only thing I've had to do to them is replace the insole. Got a brand new pair in box ready to replace them though.
Oh and never get steel toe. Yeah, it MIGHT protect your toe from something heavy, but if that something is REALLY heavy, it's just going to bend that steel toe down and it'll act like a guillotine and make it harder for emergency personnel to save your piggies.

I can't speak personally to how well they hold up but [Danner boots](http://www.danner.com/) should satisfy your need for style and functionality. They're based out of Portland. If you can't find a retailer down here I'm sure you can find one up there. Whatever boots you end up buying, remember to fully break them in before you go on your trek. Good luck!

You're asking about a pair of boots to climb mt everest, but you're concerned with how they'll look with blue jeans? I would be concerned more with comfort and function than looks if that's the intended peupose. Otherwise, Iron Rangers with an insole
