  Deanne asks: Hi there. We will be traveling to hobart with a 1 & 3 year old in September for an 8 day holiday. I'm after suggestions for child friendly activities & cafes (we love out coffee) in hobart as well as suggestions for day trips & an alternative base for 3 nights within 2 hours drive of hobart. Any tips would be much appreciated :-)

  The museum has a great cafe with fantastic coffee and courtyard for little ones, also check out the ground floor displays, all family friendly and close to CBD. Lazy breakfast in salamanca square, kids can run around and all safe. We also love day tripping to new norfolk, good bike parks and the salmon ponds or huon valley, bruny island. Peppermint Bay for grown up food but outside gardens for kids to run around and stop at the margate train on the way there or back for lollies. Bruny is great for a few days exloring, we always stay at the nebraska house of www.brunybeachside.com.au it has everything you need and a great cafe a few doors along. Take all your food items, but linen etc all there. Great beach and very private. Enjoy tas, we love it <3
