  Question from the inbox ~ Hello, I have homeport change orders to California. My wife and kid are currently in Norfolk, Virginia. I think I want to do a personal move just because I have some stuff that I plan on dropping off back in Texas, where I'm from. Anyways I am looking to find a good company that will drop a shipping container off at my house so I can pack it up. Its going all the way to California. So who is reasonably priced and good in Norfolk? Plus I applied for housing at Lincoln military in California. Are there any other good affordable places that aren't military housing? And not in bad areas that I can sign up for? Thanks.

  The Navy Housing Service Center (HSC) can help you with housing whether you want to live in Lincoln Military Housing or community housing. The HSC maintains a list of properties for rent and may also have cost saving programs such as the Rental Partnership Program (RPP). To view the San Diego housing page visit http://navylifesw.com/sandiego/housing/. You can contact the HSC at 619-556-8443, or online using the Housing Early Application Tool (HEAT) at www.cnic.navy.mil/HEAT.
