  Recommendations: a southside real estate agent to rent out our family home ___________________________________ Does anyone have any recommendations for a good real estate agent on the southside that will help us manage and rent out our family home (Wanniassa area)? We are moving away from Canberra soon and we will be gone for a few years. We'd like to rent out our home while we are away. We understand the rental market is a bit flat in Canberra at the moment. Financially, we can't afford to have the house sitting empty for too long, so we aren't looking for 'top dollar' or unrealistic valuations from agents, we just need reasonable and consistent rent. Since we plan to move back into the home when we return, it's also a priority for us to rent it to tenants who will treat the house well and keep it in good condition. We know the key to this will be to secure a good agent, but unfortunately, we've mostly heard horror stories recently! To avoid the trappings of salespeople who promise the world but deliver very little, we would love to hear some recommendations and good experiences from Canberra Mums with regard to local rental agents. Ideally, we'd like a responsive agent who can communicate well with us while we are away, will check the references of tenants to help avoid problem ones, can market the property appropriately to fill it quickly, and who charges reasonable and transparent fees.   I recommend Kylie Bickerton at Ray White Tuggeranong. Kylie did a fabulous job managing my property and I have recommended her to many who are also extremely happy. Nothing was ever too much of an ask, excellent communication, and she actually cared about my property!
