  My 15 year son has just had his NDIS plan approved and he has been given funding to see a psychologist for his autism, sensory processing disorder and learning difficulties. Do any Mum's have any suggestions for a psychologist that is awesome with teenage boys with a disability. We would prefer a male so he can model appropriate behaviour however any awesome female psychologist would be great too. Doesn't matter north or South. Thanks

  I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a psychologist or other service to help a teenager with depression and self harming. Particularly looking for services that will also support parents of teenagers having issues with mental illness. Conflict resolution services for parents and teens would be useful. Thanks!

  What school and services would you suggest for a fifteen year old boy struggling with behavioural problems and refusing to go to school? He refused to go to school last year so he was transferred to a new school this year. He is now refusing to go to the new school and hasn't been for two weeks. Are there any specialised schools in canberra that cater to kids not fitting in to the regular school system? He is abusive to family members and argumentative and refuses to discuss anything. As far as the school is aware there is no bullying problem. He will not see a psychologist or go to medical appointments. His behaviour is causing problems for his younger siblings. He is physically larger than his mother and has begun physically intimidating family members. Any advice or suggestions very gratefully received. TIA.

  Perhaps see a behavioural therapist . We saw Mark he did wonders for our son . Mark Scarborough - Psychologist Mark offers individual and family counselling, generally in the form of one hour sessions in the comfortable surrounds of his home practice in Wanniassa. The practice has been running since 2002. Mark has a special interest in working with people on the autism spectrum and enjoys keeping up to date with current trends and research. Mark also runs a number of activity-based groups aimed at building the resilience, social skills and confidence of young people.
