About us
I am a licensed Family Child Care provider who has been in the field of Early Childhood since 2001. I offer Full-Time, Part-Time, Half Day, and Drop-in-Care for children 6 weeks- School-Age.
Philosophy:
My philosophy on how children learn is by offering a developmentally appropriate balance of individual and group experiences designed to promote creativity, self-esteem, language development, cognitive skills, physical growth, environmental awareness, and social-emotional skills. The children make choices, discover new ideas, problem solve, and gain a sense of his or her own competence. In my program the children are given the opportunity to explore materials and participate in a variety of experiences such as:
Creative experiences
Social relationships
Communication skills
Reading readiness
Language experiences
Math readiness and conceptual skills
Environmental/science awareness
Motor skills
Home visitors to provide enriching experiences
I strive to:
*Awaken children’s spirit and imagination
*Encourage their normal desire for independence and high sense of self-esteem
*Help them develop kindness, courtesy, and self-discipline
*Help the children learn how to observe, question, and explore ideas independently
In a way that:
*Creates a safe, secure, positive, and nurturing environment for children and families
*Fosters self-confidence, awareness, discovery, and excitement for all learners
*Builds collaborative, on-going communication and efforts among educators, families, and the community.
My beliefs about Early Childhood are based on National Association for the Education of Young Children ( NAEYC) guidelines for developmentally appropriate practices to assess beliefs concerning : curricular goals, teaching strategies, guidance of social-emotional development, motivation, parent-teacher relations, and assessment of children.
