  Painting Classes I'm looking for recommendations in Montreal. I've been googling around for an art class to improve my oil painting skills once or twice a week. It's hard to figure out which ones are good because reviews are scarce and the schools websites are pretty horrible. Here is a list of things I'm looking for if anyone knows of a person/place that could work: * Not a hobby class/excuse to get out of the house * Good for an experienced yet uneducated painter like myself * After work or on weekends * Solid feedback and opinions from instructors * Sub $1000 price range

  The [Visual Arts Centre](https://www.visualartscentre.ca/) in Westmount is consistently very good. A few doors down Victoria Ave from the VAC is [DO Studio](http://www.dostudio.ca/), which, while quite small, seems to be run by an interesting character of an instructor. Other painters have told me good things about [Atelier de Brésoles](http://www.atelierdebresoles.com/) in Old Montreal, but their mid-day schedules and higher prices might not fit your criteria.
