Good day parents. I was wondering if any of you have seen gps devices like watches or chips to put in kids boots ect. My son is going away next weekend to a winter camp...
No child has ever been lost or wandered off at the Beaver or Scout Camp during winter weekend camp. It is located just before St. Jerome up north aut. 15, a hop, a skip and a jump from the top of Laval. The kids stay in converted connected cabooses donated by CN and CP and have such a great time running from car to car and landing up in their bunk bed car! They never wander off too far from their choochoo train accomodations!

Sandra, I have read all the replies and comments and I can tell you that some people have provided good input for you and others are misinformed. I am the Scouts Area Commissioner for the West Island and therefore responsible for all Scouting Groups in the Area. I can assure you that Scouts Canada has very good policies, screening and training for its volunteers. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to PM me and I would be pleased to answer any questions you may have. I was a Scout myself as a youth and I have been involved as a volunteer with Scouts in the West Island for more than 12 years. My own son was a Scout and I remember we had the same questions and concerns as any parents do at the beginning. It is normal as a parent. Scout activities are always open to parents to observe. Even better if you want to have fun and participate as a volunteer, we welcome volunteers and there is a registration, screening and training process to follow in order to become an active volunteer.
