  Does anyone know if there are people checking neighborhoods for left animals? We have friends in their 80s evacuated from Bastrop, they could only take 3 dogs, the police wouldn't let them load the van, they had to leave all dogs in the kennel and a large number of heritage turkeys. Is there anyway to get on a list to check. We fear the worst and our friends are beside themselves. Is anyone checking to see if the area can be checked by some officials for the animals. I have their address but don't know what estate area they are in...

  Bastrop County Sheriff's Dept Animal Search Volunteers # is 512-332-8814. They are overloaded with calls so it may take awhile to get through.
