Vaccination (. asked:kj.... Nicole asked..... Hi, Please post. I am 32 weeks pregnant and my husband and I have a lot of questions and concerns regarding vaccines. The M. asked:Please post this anonymously. I'm pregnant with my first child and have done tons of research to come to the decision I do not want to vaccinate. I am preparing with printing/archiving many articles and studies to support my decision and have a huge folder I intend to bring to appointments in case I need any references. I am currently about to begin looking for a pediatrician. I am preparing myself for the uncomfortable discussions with him/her about opting out of vaccinating and was wondering- is there a way to know which doctors are getting kickbacks from which pharmaceutical companies? Or is there any legal obligation for the doctor to disclose this information when asked? Additionally, does anyone have any suggestions for me, should I not even be able to find a pediatrician willing to work with me? I live in a small town with limited options, so this may be something I'll have to face. Any and all advice is appreciated.

The M. asked:From Samantha: We just recently moved to an area that has had really high rates of Pertussis (Washington state) and I took my son to his well check up with a new doctor this week. He is very open to doing whatever parents want to do about vaccines. He was not pushy and told me he does not recommend all of vaccines and hasn't used them all with his kids or grand kids. He did say the only one he recommends is the DTaP because he sees pertussis cases every year and they are almost all unvaccinated kids. He left it up to me to decide and I'm very happy with him as a dr however I am very worried now that winter is coming up that my new baby will be infected with pertussis. I would never forgive myself if he got it and had complications. Do you have any data or articles that might pertain to this..particularly in the WA area?
